Hypnosis for Positive Change
Learn about and experience the amazing power of hypnotherapy. Many people still associate hypnosis
with stage entertainment and the likes, but the clinical reality is now known to have both medical and psychological
credibility. Currently, the American Medical Association, American Dental Association and the American Psychological Association
endorse the legitimacy of hypnosis as a clinical and therapeutic tool.
To define hypnosis, it would be described as "an altered state of consciousness." This altered state is accompanied by total mental
and physical relaxation. One is NOT put to sleep. Neither is one made to do something against his or her own will. The client
can and may choose to end the session and get up from their chair at will anytime during the session, if they choose to do so. Also, the client
is able to hear everything that is said to them during their hypnosis session. All in all, it can be described much like what is experienced when
a person is driving a vehicle and suddenly does not remember how he or she got from point A to point B. This is referred to as "Highway Hypnosis." The
person driving the vehicle was not in a "trance" but merely daydreaming or experiencing an altered state of consciousness.
Hypnosis is like being hyper-aware or extremely focused, and is often referred to as "creative visualization." With hypnosis we increase the ability to absorb
suggestion. Hypnosis is an avenue to replace ineffective, destructive behavior effortlessly. This is when people begin to lose weight, stop smoking or reduce stress
and finally see the resolution of life-long battles.
